is baseless
ISLAMABAD: A Foreign Office spokesman has termed as baseless
the reports of Pakistani troops fighting against Armenia in Azerbaijan.
A statement issued by
the Foreign Office said that reports and reports of Pakistani troops fighting
against Armenia in Azerbaijan were highly irresponsible.
Pakistan is deeply concerned about the deteriorating security
situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, Armenian shelling of Azerbaijani
civilians is reprehensible and regrettable. Foreign Office spokesman Zahid
Hafeez said that Pakistan supports Azerbaijan's position on Nagorno-Karabakh,
Azerbaijan's position on Nagorno-Karabakh is in accordance with the unanimous
resolutions of the UN Security Council.
The spokesman added that Armenia must suspend operations to
avoid threats to peace and security in the region.
